The Alterac Mountains recall the fallen kingdom of Alterac. In Classic, ogres and the Syndicate occupy parts of the region while Dalaran is rebuilt beneath an arcane dome.
The entrances to Alterac Valley connect the mountains to the conflict between the Frostwolf clan and the Stormpike Guard. The region’s history and the battleground rules are separate subjects, presented separately in the Atlas.
