Name reservations run from October 27 through November 3, 2026. Eligible upgrade owners can prepare up to three characters across all rulesets. Reserving a name does not grant access to the game world.

Yes. Capital cities have barbershops, including Darnassus and Thunder Bluff. City guards can give directions.

Groups require the same ruleset and faction. Cross-ruleset grouping is not supported.

An announced language preference is intended to help players encounter others sharing their preferred language.

Rulesets cannot be freely switched; normally you create a new character for another ruleset. Dead Hardcore characters can transfer out. On the PvP ruleset you can create characters of only one faction. Battlegrounds may include different rulesets, except Hardcore.

Set your preferred online language under Options → System → Languages and Social. It applies account-wide and can be changed again after 24 hours.

Legacy is account-wide progression earned through challenges. Each character allocates points independently; up to 16 points can be spent at launch and earned on a single character.

Blizzard explicitly says there will be no level scaling. The world is meant to retain its challenges while leveling.

No. The 16 points spendable at launch can be earned on one character. Your first point unlocks the system, for example at level 25 or skill 150 in a non-gathering primary profession. There are 65 challenges in six categories.
