Gather the enemies and place Consecration where you intend to stand. Use Holy Shield before their melee hits. Include Seal of Fury and its talents when planning how to manage your Mana.
Check the enemies and the path you will pull them along. Mark dangerous targets and agree on control. Start when your healer is ready and you have space to retreat.

Keep Mana for the next pull and an emergency.
Keep enemies together rather than pulling bigger groups every time. Bring a distant caster in with line of sight or an appropriate interrupt.
Use defenses early rather than spending them all together. Keep an answer to the next heavy hit and check which abilities prevent each other from being used.
Balance Stamina, armor and useful defensive stats with reliable threat. Shield and block stats help only when your build actually uses a shield.

Agree on your target and any tank swaps. Plan defensive abilities before the dangerous hit rather than waiting until your health is low.
Agree on boss position, tank swaps and the order of defensive abilities. Tell your healers when you need support before the dangerous phase begins.
Agree on boss duties, initial threat and every handover.
Plan Templar’s Bulwark ahead: it applies Forbearance and cannot be used while Forbearance is active.
Hold the agreed position and prepare for the next dangerous hit. Call early when you need help or a swap is uncertain, not after the hit lands.
Assign defenses to dangerous boss attacks. Coordinate the next answer with healers and other tanks so you still have something after the first save.

In PvP, protect your team with positioning and control. Take a clear job at the battleground objective; PvE threat will not keep enemy players on you.
Agree on the ally or objective you will protect. Plan your position and way back. Do not rely on taunts or threat to work on players as they do in dungeons.
Players are not controlled through PvE threat.
Use blessings, stuns and durability to protect allies and objectives; tank gear is not a damage build.
Peel enemies off vulnerable allies and make space at the objective. Surviving alone matters when your team can use the time you gain.
Use control before an enemy reaches your ally. Stagger your defenses and keep a way back instead of fighting alone out of your team’s reach.

Increases spell and ability critical strike chance by 1%, regardless of weapon type.
Increases Spirit by 10%.
Increases hit chance with spells and attacks by 1%.
