WoW Forever system requirements and GPUs

Check whether your graphics card is supported, review Blizzard’s current general minimum requirements, and troubleshoot a missing Forever beta in the Battle.net launcher.

New GPU compatibility floor for WoW Forever

For WoW Forever, Blizzard requires a GPU based on AMD Graphics Core Next 1 from 2012, NVIDIA Maxwell from 2014, Intel Skylake from 2015, or a newer architecture.

This architecture floor is not the full minimum specification or a performance promise. Blizzard explicitly notes that some compatible example cards remain well below the general minimum requirements.

Examples of supported and unsupported GPUs

Compatible architecture examples: AMD Radeon HD 7850, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 9xx and GTX 750/750 Ti, Intel HD Graphics 530.

Unsupported examples: AMD Radeon HD 6950, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760/770/780 and GTX 8xxM, Intel HD Graphics 6000.

How to check your GPU in Windows

Open Settings → System → Display → Advanced display to see the make and model.
Alternatively, open Device Manager and expand Display adapters.
Compare both the model and its underlying architecture with the official list.

Current general Windows requirements

Blizzard directs players to the current World of Warcraft system requirements for the complete specification. This table reflects the published Windows requirements on the review date. Requirements can change, so the official page remains authoritative.

A broadband connection plus keyboard and mouse are also listed. Blizzard publishes a separate macOS table; check it directly on the official system-requirements page.

Forever beta missing in the Battle.net launcher

Check whether a World of Warcraft: Forever beta licence appears under Your Game Accounts in Battle.net.
Update your graphics drivers and the Battle.net desktop app.
Fully restart Battle.net. Blizzard says a new bundle entitlement may take up to 30 minutes to appear.
Select World of Warcraft and look for World of Warcraft: Forever Beta under In Development.

Graphics options are separate from hardware support

WoW Forever includes announced SD and HD character models and several visual options. Choosing a lower visual setting does not make an officially unsupported GPU compatible.
