WoW Forever: SD and HD graphics compared
Blizzard shows SD and HD character models and new environment images. Our slider directly compares the two model options.

Choose your look
Blizzard has announced Classic and modern visual presets and SD and HD character models for Forever. Classic animations for HD models are also planned. The refreshed look is presented as a choice.
What the slider actually shows
We overlay two official images of a dwarf. Look at the face, beard and body shape. The surroundings and framing are very similar, but the pose is not identical. These are SD and HD options from the Forever presentation, not a benchmark of two game versions.
More atmosphere in the world
Blizzard cites flowing rivers in Elwynn, mist in Darkshore and moonlight in Ashenvale as examples of the rendering changes. The additional screenshots offer a look at the environments shown. Without matching reference images, they cannot establish a before-and-after comparison or performance claims.
A look at the announced state
The images come from the BlizzCon presentation. They document the development state shown and do not guarantee every future setting. We will add more slider scenes when verifiable image pairs are available.
Graphics comparison: SD and HD
Both images come from Blizzard’s Forever presentation. This compares two character-model options within Forever, not separate Classic and Forever clients. The poses differ slightly.

Move the divider with your finger or mouse, or use the arrow keys on the slider.
Official environment previews
These are individual Forever screenshots, not before-and-after pairs. Different lighting and locations cannot prove a direct graphics improvement.
