WoW Forever Restoration Shaman Guide

Answer heavy hits with direct healing and use Chain Heal for several injured allies. Watch where the group stands and whether your totems are still in the right place.

Dungeons

Heal heavy tank hits directly. Riptide helps when you need to move or respond quickly. Use Chain Heal when injured allies are close enough together, and move your totems if the fight shifts.

Before the first pull

Check your Mana and range to the tank before the pull. Call for a drink before the next group is pulled, and agree on dangerous effects you need to remove.

Combat priorities

  1. Stabilize endangered individuals first.

  2. Use Riptide for movement and appropriate healing windows.

  3. Use Chain Heal with worthwhile jump targets.

What to watch for

Heal the ally who would not survive the next hit first. An extra damage spell can wait when you can save someone or remove a dangerous effect instead.

Using your abilities and resources

Match your heal to the damage taken. Keep Mana for the next dangerous pull and call early when you are running low so the tank can adjust.

Choosing useful gear

Look for healing power, enough Mana and regeneration for longer fights. Keep enough Stamina to survive the hits that reach you despite good positioning.

Content

Raids

Agree on your healing job before the boss. Use the following priorities to plan your spells and Mana around the parts of the fight that matter.

Before the first pull

Agree with the other healers on your targets and Mana support. Stand where you can still reach your assignment after the next movement.

Combat priorities

  1. Coordinate Mana Tide and other group resources with healers.

  2. Prepare healing windows instead of casting Chain Heal blindly across spread players; include Water Shield in your resource plan.

What to watch for

Watch for the next dangerous hit. If your target is safe and already being healed, another large cast may not help. Keep Mana for when it is needed.

Using your abilities and resources

Choose heals that let you finish your assignment, not just the current moment. Small gaps do not always need your most expensive spell. Call low Mana before the next phase.

Choosing useful gear

Look for healing power, enough Mana and regeneration for longer fights. Keep enough Stamina to survive the hits that reach you despite good positioning.

Content

PvP

Find a position where you can reach your team and move into cover when threatened. Respond to the enemy attack and coordinate your saves with your allies.

Before you engage

Agree on who you will support and where you will retreat under pressure. Stagger control and defensive abilities so you have an answer to the next attack too.

Combat priorities

  1. Renew cover and totem positioning.

  2. Use your available interrupt, cleansing and protective totems deliberately; offense must not interrupt vital healing.

What to watch for

When pressured, create time to heal with cover, team help or a suitable defensive. Do not spend every save on the same enemy attack.

Using your abilities and resources

Keep Mana for the next enemy attack. Use quieter moments to reposition, and tell your team early if you can no longer heal safely.

Choosing useful gear

Look for healing power, enough Mana and regeneration for longer fights. Keep enough Stamina to survive the hits that reach you despite good positioning.
