Stick to the agreed priority target so you do not waste Combo Points on needless switches. Set interrupt assignments before the pull. A timely Kick helps the group more than a rushed finishing move.
Agree on the main target and your interrupts before the pull. Check which enemies will be controlled, and wait for secure tank threat before starting area damage.

Use finishers without blocking your next control action.
Deal with dangerous enemies first. A stopped cast and a controlled enemy left untouched often help more than extra area damage.
Use a defensive before predictable damage. Offensive cooldowns pay off when the target will live long enough and you can safely keep attacking.
Keep your weapons up to date and make your hits reliable. Choose useful offensive stats without giving up the ability to stay safely on target.

Pick a shared target and agree on control. Engage when your team can follow, and keep a position your healer can still reach.
Pool Energy for control and damage windows.
Match poisons to the task; bleeds and poison ticks can interfere with planned crowd-control resets.
Watch the enemy’s control and defensive abilities. A target switch or helping your healer can do more than continuing to hit the best-protected enemy.
Commit offensive abilities when control and range let you attack. Keep a defensive answer for the counterattack and adjust when the enemy uses protection.
